What does it mean at the movie theater when they ask student or adult?

if you can’t your not an adult.

but that student rate is so that people paying for tuition can get a slightly better price, since paying for college makes you poor these days.

ofcource say student, that mens ur 13 or older and go to school. it’s also like 1 dollar cheaper for a student

Most likely they are asking so they can determine how much you should pay to get in.

Most theatres will have the standard adult price and a cheaper price for senior citizens or children. The owner of the business can decide who gets what kind of discount. Perhaps rather than giving a discount to persons under age 18, he decided to give a discount to students (which would include college age). Why not ask next time you are in? You might be paying more than you have to if you say you are an adult.

Of course if you are trying to get into an R rated movie, saying you are an adult is the only way they will let you in the door… 8)
