I think it brings to the forefront the struggles of millions in India. I think it was positive in that aspect, as now people are starting to take notice. I have been aware of the slums for a while now, so that was no surprise to me. It’s still sad that people live like that.

I hope that in addition to inspiring other Indians hope that one can make it out of their situations, that it will help others to put focus on the humanitarian crisis in India.

btw – I totally enjoyed this film.

Many Indians thought it was insulting because it just shows what exactly happened in India. What the movie showcased showed India as a third world country, which it was ten years ago, but not as much now. Being an American-born Indian, I thought the movie was wonderful, but that may because we are spoiled over here. It was a true eye-opener.

wat it potrays is true…….there are people living like that in india, but wat needs to be understood that india has developed a lot……india as a thirld world country wud have been rite some 30 years ago. rite now u have to see urself that india has really developed, there is a vast scope of improvement but a third world country……..u either dont kno wat it is, or u dont kno india………its not america but its not africa either……..its somewher in between but shows a lot of promise

All the Indian people say that it shows this horrible side of India. This film really shows the improvement that India has gone through in the last 10-15 years. I remember in that scene when Salim and Jamal were on that construction skyscraper and Salim points to a building and says”that is where our slum used to be, and look at it now. India is becoming so big.” this is when he meets Salim for the first time in 10 years. So people need to learn from this and improve upon it, not just say India is not like this. Indian people OPEN YOUR EYES!!!!!!
