Do not be fooled. This is a gratuitously violent movie. A young boy is blinded just so he is "worth" more a a singer. The "star" is tortured and electrocuted while being interrogated. There is 1 major riot scene (pretty graphic, but not Dawn of the Dead graphic). There are a few shooting, beating, violent scenes, but they are pretty integral to the plot. I don't consider them gratuitous. The movie is 2 hours long. The violence adds up to about 10-15 minutes. If you can handle cringing for that (in short bursts), it is definitely worth seeing.
