I dont get it. if its not cost or distance then why wont they let you see it. All i can suggest is try brainstorming solutions for whatever it is that they have a problem with.
Sit them down and talk to them about it. Learn about it a little bit and think of valid reasons that seeing it could benefit you. If I were your mother, and you could prove to me that taking you to see it would benefit you in the end, I would be all for taking you to see it.
I took 6 of my 10 children to see it because my oldest brough up reasons that it could benefit them.
My guess is that they are protecting you from the risque parts of the story…You don’t mention how old you are, but if you need your parents to take you, you must be fairly young.
I haven’t seen the musical, but the book was very sexual, and it may be this that your parents don’t want you exposed to.
Tell them a substitute teacher who has read the book and seen the play highly recommends it.
Oh I LOVE wicked. Amazing amazing amazing!! My suggestion would be to first find out what the reasons are for not taking you and then work on those. Even though cost and distance isn’t a factor try suggesting you’ll work for your own money to buy the ticket or you’ll do odd jobs around the house to pay for gas money or whatever. That way they can see you really do want to go and you’re even willing to work for it and then responsibly try to explain to them how the play impacted your life and if there is anything you can do to change their minds. Most of the time though when parents make up their minds they don’t change them. Just be responsible and mature about it and that will go a long way with them.Good luck
Let them listen to some of the music ahead of time. Maybe if they get a better understanding of the story and the music they will want to see it as well.
